Elevating life experiences through design.
Experience & Focus
My work spans 10+ years across consumer and healthcare technology, where stakes are high and margins for error are low. Working across software, hardware, and embedded interfaces, I translate complexity into seamless real-world experiences where "make it pretty" doesn't cut it.
I thrive on collaboration and early problem definition: bringing clarity to ambiguity, aligning teams around the right questions, and exploring a wide breadth of design concepts. I've partnered extensively with engineering, product, research, clinical, and design teams to balance diverse human needs with complex technical constraints, setting foundations that support thoughtful, scalable solutions.
In addition to hands-on design, I’ve led cross-functional, user-centered teams across UX, research, human factors, clinical engineering, software engineering, and industrial design.
Leadership & Community
Alongside my day-to-day work, I actively work to shape human-centered futures within the design community.
Local Leader for IxDF San Diego, organizing events and fostering community for interaction designers in the San Diego area.
Offering regular mentorship opportunities to emerging designers navigating career growth and complex problem spaces.
Creating educational material on accessibility and design in the healthcare technology space (visit my LinkedIn for updates).
Testimonies
"Allie is a multitalented Rock Star that can design amazing things. I was impressed with her professionalism, ability to quickly get up to speed, her eye for design, and her willingness to contribute new ideas. If you have the opportunity to work with Allie, DO IT!"
— Dennis Morrow, former UX manager at Jabil
"Allie is an outstanding Designer, teammate, and role model. I had the pleasure of working with her when I was working to foster a rapid prototyping culture at Cepheid. Every two weeks, Allie prototyped an idea, starting with stakeholder and customer interviews and finishing with a customer/user-validated prototype. She set the pace and never wavered. She is a credit to her profession."
— Brad Black, former Product Operations Manager at Cepheid
